Powin Energy is currently hiring for an IT Network Specialist. The IT Network Specialist will be the company’s primary technology strategist and supporter and will lead the company in the implementation of technology to assist with operational objectives in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The IT Network Specialist has an integral role in the development, growth, and success of the company. The IT Network Specialist partners with the senior leadership team and leverages relationships with key technology contacts to establish the aligned vision and priorities for the company’s technology and accelerate achievement of growth objectives. The IT Network Specialist will defend the company from security threats and protect its valuable information. The IT Network Specialist will introduce innovations, establish strategic partnerships, build organizational capability, drive continuous improvement, and deliver tangible value through use of IT.
And finally, Powin’s IT Network Specialist will also serve in a customer facing role. In this capacity, the IT Network Specialist will act as the company’s point person for communicating with our customers regarding Powin’s product software and addressing networking and software communications questions and concerns.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Leads and coordinates development of IT infrastructure to ensure key business strategies and processes are supported by systems that enable growth and flexibility
- Ensures safety and integrity of data by maintaining security and privacy of the information systems and equipment
- Manages IT initiatives including system and network administration
- Purchases IT products and devices and supports on-site installation, setup, and integration of internal tools and systems
- Troubleshoots network issues/problems
- Manages routine and ad hoc maintenance of hardware and software systems
- Assists with network design and communicates with customers regarding design and product/customer interface
- Configures networks at remote sites including but not limited to: SCADA, communications networks, firewalls, sensors, and I/O devices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years experience in network engineering, technical support, IT system administration, or other similar technical background
- Experience with Windows
- Familiarity with ModBus, SunSpec, and Linux
- Knowledge of security best practices and experience with intrusion detection systems, enterprise virus scanning, and general network monitoring
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate technical information effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent organizational, planning, presentation, troubleshooting, and multi-tasking skills
- Must be able to work independently and as a team member
- Ability to prioritize and be flexible in a fast-paced environment
